I HATE throwing Birthday Parties!

Why is it that throwing a party for your child (whom you love immensely) is the most hellacious experience?! And really...why would I stress over a party for 6 year olds?! I know that Austin had the time of his life, the kids all had fun, and it was technically a successful event. I know, I know...that's all that matters! But seriously...is there anyone out there who agrees with me? And does this make me a careless momma?

It was a very fun party, and no one could even tell that you weren't enjoying yourself. Hey, I even enjoyed myself, so now you know it was a great party!

I have never had a "friend" birthday party for any of my children and Adam is almost 8! He actually requests his birthday celebration to be in CA with his family that lives there during the summer. I love that:) While we are out for Christmas, we have Emily's birthday with the family too. Growing up I didn't have friend birthday parties until Jr. high. Maybe that's why I don't do them? You're a great mom to put on a fun party for your boy even though you weren't excited about it! That's a mother's love in action;)

Please, everything is more stressful when you're wearing the "momma" hat. I get stressed about having anyone over to my house, let alone throwing a party. I'm just not the hostess type, I guess. You rock at it, though, so it's kind of nice to know you get stressed too (sorry that you do, but...well, I find some comfort in that).
It looks like a fantastic party and it's so nice to see your faces. We miss our Iowa pals. Happy Birthday, Austin!
